Music x Art

When it comes to music, art, and unleashing your creativity, JAIN, ChocQuibTown, and Lido Pimienta are three musicians who do this masterfully. They are sure to catch your attention as they stand out with their incorporation of artistic concepts, bold fashion statements, and even infusing their diverse cultures into their music videos. That said, we created this article just for you, our fans, and creatives, as we want you to get inspired and create engaging content that makes you stand out while being true to yourself. Even though all three of them are very different, they can give you ideas and get you excited about improving your content so check them out below and tell us what you think in the comments at the end.

JAIN

Jeanne Louise Galice, better known as JAIN, is a French singer-songwriter whose creativity is limitless! Her travels and life experiences from living in Dubai, Congo-Brazzaville, Abu Dhabi, and Pau have all shaped her musical style into the upbeat songs and heart-pumping rhythms that we love. Without a doubt, her intense programmed beats are sure to put you in a better mood and can definitely get you to your feet. Her videos are quite eye-catching as well. In fact, to achieve her visuals that make you say “That’s so cool!”,  she uses street art, graffiti, green screen elements, adrenaline activities, and pretty much anything that her team can think of to make her videos pop with colour and come to life. We invite you to see for yourself and analyze how her music video “Dynabeat” is bursting with creativity.

ChocQuibTown

This Afrocentric Colombian hip hop group certainly knows how to make a statement with their music, and undeniably, their fashion trends. The trio group comprising of Miguel “Slow” Martinez, Carlos “Tostao” Valencia, and the inspiring Gloria “Goyo” Martinez, needs to be praised for their originality and dedication to incorporating musical styles such as salsa, Latin jazz, and the authentic sound of the “marimba”, to acknowledge their origin from the Pacific coast of Colombia. In terms of their dress, Goyo likes to experiment with various unique hairstyles and the boys are always dripping in fresh hip hop streetwear or Afropunk attire. We also like that as a group, ChocQuibTown is socially active and they often use their music to bring about change. #somoshumanos To fully understand the group’s dynamic, it’s best to watch more than one of their videos, but not to worry as all of their songs are absolute fire. Lido Pimienta

The third musician that we admire for their artistic concepts is none other than Lido Pimienta. Not only is Lido a visual artist and curator who lives in Canada but she is also super creative with how she infuses her indigenous influences from Colombia into her music. Lido is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia and her music is quite different as she includes a variety of intriguing styles such as Bullerengue, Cumbia, and synthesizer pop with a splash of electronic fusion. Whenever you are about to watch any of her videos, one should expect vibrant colors, cool outfits, cultural characters, and many forms of indigenous influences. However, like all forms of art that are open to interpretation, have an open mind, watch her video below and then share your views with us.
